Rainbow Braid Metallic Rubber Band Refill Pack - Review

The Rainbow Loom is such a fun, easy and creative way to make cute accessories at a low cost! It works even better when you have a great set of rubber bands to make your creations.

I received the Rainbow Loom and a set of Rainbow Braid 1200pc Metallic Rubber Bands in Gold and Black.

This is what the kit looks like outside of the box, it comes with your loom, your hook, and a set of colorful rubber bands. The Rainbow Braid brand was gracious enough to send over their gold and black metallic bands.

I found these to be of good quality, good color, no rubber odor and non-irritating on skin. Please keep in mind that they are rubber bands, if you pull them back, play "sling shots" or just misuse them, they WILL snap!

But if you use them for their sole purpose, which is to loom some great patterns for bracelets, rings and cute accessories, then you'll be just fine!

I followed the easy steps -

Then immediately put my Rainbow Loom to good use!

The loom gives you, your starting point.

I followed an easy pattern and used the handy hook that came with my Rainbow Loom kit.

I finished my bracelet in about 10 minutes!

You can purchase a Rainbow Loom for just under $15 and grab a few bags of Rainbow Braid Metallic rubber band refill packs via Amazon. The rubber bands have minimal smell, and they're latex free, so they are safe for everyone! I guarantee you will spend countless of hours with your little ones and even your teens making super cool items using your Rainbow Loom and rubber bands.

Pampers and Feeding American - Thanks, Baby: A Letter to My Children

As Mother's Day approaches, I think about how lucky I am to have my mom with me. We may be hundreds of miles apart, but we still manage to talk, text or keep in contact daily on social media. I think back now, how rebellious I was and that I'm probably the cause of a few (okay, okay, many) of her gray hairs (shhhhhh...it's a secret, she'd hate for people to know she has gray hair!Sorry mom, your secret is out!)

I remember coming home to a warm house, an after school snack waiting for me, filling my belly with food. Did you know that my reality isn't the same for many? According to Feeding America, 1 in 6 people (that includes children) are hungry every day. Beside that, most people don't even have the basic needs to keep their family fed or clothed. This includes diapers, and that's why it's so amazing that the good people at Pampers and Feeding America have partnered up!

Take the time to watch this video, it's just a few small minutes of your life. Why? It's simple, for every person who views the video Pampers will donate 1 diaper (up to a million diapers) to help those who may not have diapers for their own babies.

I am a mother to three amazing young men, I can still remember what it felt like to hold them each for the first time. I remember what they smelled like, what their skin felt like, soft and brand new and I always preferred Pampers Swaddlers with my youngest, it really helped eliminate leaks and fortunately he didn't break out in a rash like with other diaper brands. I will always have vivid memories of my children, I believe it's part of being a mother. One day, when my children are grown, they will remember me. All the things that once annoyed them, the things that made them angry and the things that made them cry and they'll remember me always trying to get my point across, getting the same blank stares I once gave my own mother. I want them to have some of my thoughts and feelings written on virtual pen and paper, and maybe then they'll understand me:

Dear M, J and N:
I want to thank you boys for making me a mom. I've learned so many lessons from each one of you, and while most people believe that Mom's are supposed to be the teachers, you my children have taught me the most.  How? You taught me that I can live even if my heart is hanging outside of my body, pumping, pounding and beating, sometimes skipping a beat. I learned that you can love more than one person at the same time, all with the same intensity. I didn't think it was possible, but it is. I can still remember how my heart filled with love and joy the first time I saw each one of you, the first time I held you, the first time I kissed your soft skin. I learned on the day of each birth, that I could fall in love over and over again, never losing feelings for any other child, but instead I could feel my heart growing larger.  I learned great lessons from patience to humility, to how scary I can be when I feel that someone has hurt my babies (TOTAL MOMMA BEAR MODE...ROAR!), I learned that I CAN survive teething (more than once), I learned that getting peed on is a ONE time error and that putting you in a warm room or covering your privates would also suffice! I learned that putting you in a bubble is not good for your health (or my sanity) because you'd all definitely survive a skinned knee, a bruise and/or a bump. I learned that I can't hold your hand your entire life and (although a much tougher lesson) that's it's okay. I know you'll all be okay, but I wasn't sure if I'd survive. I learned that allowing you to learn things on your own, will make you a better human being, man, son and hopefully one day, a father.  I cannot promise you that you will not fall, fail or feel heart break, I cannot promise you that your life will be easy, or that you'll always catch a break.  I can tell you with certainty that you will be hurt, you will fall, you will fail, you will experience heartbreak, life isn't easy and catching breaks, well...better put on your catchers mitt! But you know what I CAN promise you all? That Mom will be here, mom will put on a band-aid when you fall, but I'll make YOU rip it off with one swift pull, I'll show you how to fall with grace because that's a lesson you taught me as a first time mother, I'll teach you how to learn from your failures and turning them into a positive learning experiences because you taught me how to succeed as a mother. I will help you mend the broken heart and I'll teach you how to catch, because I learned all this from you three.  You've taught me more than I'd ever thought possible, thank you babies. You made me a Mom, I was always a woman, but I wasn't a mom until there was you. You're not always going to agree with me, but I hope that we can agree to disagree. You may not always like me, but I know you'll always love me. And know that it's okay to hate me, it just validates that I'm doing something right!
To the moon and back is not far enough to measure how much I love you all,
Now that I've written and re-written this letter, you know because I cried (it's been a sappy sort of day for me) and cried some more, let's get on to the FUN!!
